Dear St. Matthews UMC Family and Friends,

Happy Birthday Church!  Today we celebrate Pentecost Sunday!  Our worship video will also feature our two high school graduates this year:  Lily Ernst and Meghan Harrington.  We want to invite you to join us in worship online and take advantage of the other opportunities below.

Giving

An important part of our worship each week is giving.  We always encourage you to think about how you are living out your faith by sharing your time, talent, and treasure.  Each of our campuses has a dedicated page to explain all the different options you have for giving (two of which don’t even require getting off your couch!):

24-Hour Prayer Vigil

Our hearts are broken and troubled because of the racism, protests, anger, and fear that our city and country are experiencing right now, specifically regarding the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd.  You can read a statement written by our Bishop and Extended Cabinet HERE [Insert Link].  As a part of our response, we want to invite you to join us in a 24-hour prayer vigil.  Please click the following link, which will let you sign up for a 30 minute slot to pray on Monday.  We pray for justice, we pray for peace, we pray for comfort and healing for the families of these victims, and we pray for courage to be witnesses of God’s love, hope, and faith in the world.
