Palm Sunday Graphic.jpg

Good morning St. Matthews UMC family and friends!

Happy Palm Sunday!  Today we kick-off our Holy Week celebrations, when we focus our hearts and minds on the last days Jesus walked this earth before his death and resurrection.  Below you will find resources for worship today, as well as, an attached graphic that outlines all the Holy Week opportunities we are offering.

This week Pastor Derek continues our λόγος series and our worship is led by Andrew Chapman, River City Worship Leader, and Aaron Weaver, Music Associate for Youth.  Please click the following link to watch the YouTube video:

Our Hispanic Ministry, Tabernaculo de Avivamiento (TDA) will also have a Facebook Live video that will begin streaming at 12:30 pm.  You can find them by searching “Tda Church” on Facebook.

Children’s Ministry Resources and Events

Our children’s ministry staff, Shannon Seidt and Lexie Callaham, have also developed a Palm Sunday children’s moment video so that your kiddos can worship, play, and sing along from home.

Here are other resources for today and throughout the week:

Holy Week in a Box:  This project uses simple objects tucked into a small box, along with Scripture, to tell the story of Holy Week.

Color a Palm Leaf:  Color a palm leaf and wave it like people did when Jesus entered Jerusalem. We would love to see pictures and video of you joining in the celebration!

Sermon Notes from Home:  Similar to the Grow, Pray, and Study Guides that we use in worship, this handout helps kids engage worship and remember what they learned.

Family Discussion Guide

This family discussion guide connects to today’s Scripture, where Jesus enters Jerusalem to a great celebration (Jn. 12).  This is a great resource to get your family (of all ages!) talking about everything going on in our world.

Virtual Easter “Egg “ Hunt

Come join us beginning Palm Sunday through Easter on a virtual "Egg" hunt while maintaining your social distance.

Journey through the Bible and the Easter Story with us all week long. We will provide clues three times a day (morning, afternoon, evening) and ask that you figure out the clues with your family and friends and upload your answers via pictures and comments on our Facebook event page!

We can't wait to see your pics!

An important part of our worship each week is giving.  We always encourage you to think about how you are living out your faith by sharing your time, talent, and treasure.  Each of our campuses has a dedicated page to explain all the different options you have for giving (two of which don’t even require getting off your couch!):

God bless you and have a great Sabbath day!

Pastors Adam, Derek, and Maikel
